Lairs - Building A Dungeon

Let's face it, as an adventurer, you're going to have run your fair share of dungeons. The best training to prepare for a subterranean delve into the unknown is learning how to think like a Lair Builder. What monsters will you recruit to defend the narrow passages? Where will you lay your most cunning traps? Will your labyrinth be filled with twists and turns or empty wide open spaces? If you're going to secure your place in the Adventurer's Guild, you're going to have to master these decisions.

In Lairs, you and an opponent start with the same set of walls, traps, chests, and monsters. Behind a screen, you'll each lay out a dungeon on a 6 x 6 grid. There are only a couple simple limitations to dungeon design. You'll be building tunnels, laying traps, and unleashing monsters in no time. Every choice is up to you, so be clever about how you construct your Lair.

As you begin your training, you'll only have access to a limited set of monsters and traps, but the more you play, the more content you'll unlock. Before you know it, you'll have your pick of scaly, toothy, harry beasts to populate your dungeon with. You'll also gain new traps to set, each with their own nefarious effects should your opponent stumble across them. Choose the obstacles and layout of your dungeon to confound and disorient your rival. Create looping dead ends and place the Exit where they will least suspect it! Make sure you're the one defeating the monsters, eluding the traps, and finding the treasure first!

Lairs is coming to Kickstarter soon. The first game is only the beginning! Sign up for a launch day reminder here.
